Scubapro Fins

SCUBAPRO fins (or Scuba Pro fins) have perfected the principle of hydrodynamic efficiency ever since the creation of the original Vented Jet Fin.

SCUBAPRO first appeared in the scuba diving world in the early 1960’s. It was guided by two men, Gustav Dalla Valle and Dick Bonin. They brought to the market many innovations for diving that are still being used today.

In 1965 the first version of the Jet fin appeared. After 40 years the fin is still popular with technical and military divers worldwide and is one of the most copied scuba products ever sold.

Today, they remain a premier manufacturer of scuba diving equipment and employ over 400 people in 17 locations spread over 13 countries, covering 4 continents. At least 1 in every 2 employees is a diver and over a third are instructors.

The different models of Scuba Pro Fins available include:

The Twin Jet Series
Twin Jet Max/Twin Jet Adjustable/Twin Jet Full Foot

The Twin Jet Series features a patented split-hydrofoil shape to deliver optimum power with minimum effort. Additionally, they are constructed with dual-compound material, which enables SCUBAPRO to fine-tune performance and optimize maneuverability and diver comfort.

The split-fin propeller technology has been proven to deliver more forward motion with considerably less effort than traditional blades and the drag-reducing vents decrease resistance on up and down strokes. Their soft, vented foot pocket is bio-engineered for optimum fit and comfort while seamlessly transferring energy from the diver to the fin.

The Twin Jet Max and Twin Jet Adjustable fins both have quick connect swivel buckles with quick-adjust straps.

The main difference between the Max and the Adjustable is the foot pocket. The Twin Jet Max’s foot pocket is closed off at the front, while the Twin Jet Adjustable is open – allowing a bit more give and take as far as fitting is concerned.

The Twin Jet Full Foot, as with other full foot fins, is primarily to be used without boots in warmer waters.

Twin speed Series
Twin Speed Adjustable/Twin Speed Full Foot

As you can tell by the name, the main difference between these two Scubapro fins is the foot pocket. The first has an open heel and the second is a full foot fin.

Both, however, utilize the split fin technology that we talk so much about. They utilize a tri-compound construction and these three different materials come together to offer superior performance. Their semi-rigid, yet elastic spine, creates a supporting framework for the other fin components. Additionally, the soft, pre-shaped webbing that make-up the middle section of the blade, channel the water efficiently to create maximum forward thrust with less wasted downdraft. The semi-rigid side ribs increase elasticity and help the blade return. The Twin Speed Adjustable fin has a soft, yet firm closed toe pocket in order to produce optimum leverage and exceptional comfort. Plus, as with the Twin Jet Series, they employ the quick-release swivel buckles.

Jet Fins

The original SCUBAPRO fins, have a long and celebrated history of performance. They set the standard for power and durability in 1965 and are still popular today. Their proven vented design decreases drag on the upstroke and enhances thrust on the downstroke. They have a very well-received adjustable heel strap that makes pre-dive preparation painless. The option of the spring heel strap is available on the L and XL versions, which makes the act of putting on and taking off the fins effortless.

Kinetix

SCUBAPRO says that Kinetix is the perfect travel fin. Because it is lightweight, it fits easily into a dive bag and is versatile enough to suit all divers. A unique molding of high-tech materials, resulting in three different sections, helps reduce fatigue. The stiffer section transfers power through elasticity and the unique spring-design power system in the back of the fin ensures maximum efficiency during thrust. The softer section on the front of the fin creates a channeling effect for optimal water flow. And finally, the extra soft section (thermoplastic rubber) for the foot pocket provides a highly comfortable fit. Plus, as with the other adjustable SCUBAPRO fins, Kinetix also has the quick release buckles for added convenience.

Veloce
Veloce Club Fins- Adjustable/Full foot

The Veloce style of fin has a classic, non-vented blade with a ribbed center section which moves water efficiently for easy kicking and power. Both also have wide foot pockets for extra comfort. The Adjustable version also has that quick connect swivel buckles.
